PATAGONIA
Patagonia is a region encompassing the vast southernmost tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, with the Andes Mountains as its dividing line. Torres del Paine National Park
Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile’s Patagonia region, is known for its soaring mountains, bright blue icebergs that cleave from glaciers and golden pampas (grasslands) that shelter rare wildlife such as llama-like guanacos. Some of its most iconic sites are the 3 granite towers from which the park takes its name and the horn-shaped peaks called Cuernos del Paine.
Perito Moreno Glacier
The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Argentinian Patagonia.
Chiloé Island
Chiloé Island, the main island in the archipelago of the same name, is in southern Chile. It’s home to pastoral landscapes and known for its iconic wooden churches, built by Jesuit missionaries in the 17th and 18th centuries. The northwest coast, where blue whales gather, also has the Monumento Natural Islotes de Puñihuil, a Magellanic and Humboldt penguin breeding ground.
National Route 40

Nahuel Huapi National Park

Nahuel Huapi Lake
The Nahuel Huapi is a glacial lake which explains why it has such crystal-clear blue waters. It covers a surface area of 557 sq. meters (1825 ft.) and is 700 meters (2300 ft.) above sea level. It stands out because of its depth and seven branches: Campanario, de la Tristeza, Blest, Machete, del Rincón, Última Esperanza, and Huemul.

Punta Tombo
Punta Tombo National Reserve is a long, narrow peninsula on Argentina’s central coast. It’s known for its vast colony of Magellanic penguins. Other inhabitants here include Patagonian hares, foxes, gulls and cormorants. Dolphins and whales swim offshore.
Los Glaciares National Park
Los Glaciares National Park is in the Austral Andes of southwest Argentina, near the Chilean border. Its many glaciers include Perito Moreno, best known for the dramatic icefalls from its front wall, into Lake Argentino. In the north, Mount Fitz Roy’s jagged peak rises above the mountain town of El Chaltén and Lake Viedma. The park is home to many birds, such as condors and black-chested buzzard eagles.
Lanín National Park
Parque Nacional Lanín is a national park in central western Argentina, at the foot of the Andes. It’s known for its many glacial lakes and the snow-capped Lanín volcano. The park is a protected area for araucaria trees and home to pumas, small deer and condors. Lake Lácar has several beaches and borders the alpine-style town of San Martín de los Andes.
